Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Officer

Salary: $88,648.56 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Officer to join the Engineering and Assets team at Greater Shepparton City Council.

The GIS Officer will be responsible for:

• Managing and improving Council’s GIS systems, capabilities and services
• Providing GIS and associated technology support services to Council departments
• Ensuring the accuracy and currency of Council’s GIS data
• Providing mapping products, spatial datasets and data analyses to both internal and external stakeholders
• Developing and maintaining GIS infrastructure and web applications

The ideal candidate will have:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in a spatial information related discipline, or relevant experience in the implementation of a corporate GIS service.
• Extensive experience in a variety of GIS applications including ArcGIS, QGIS and FME
• Experience in database management
• Strong attention to detail

Note: This position is subject to a 6 month qualifying period in accordance with the Fair Work Australia minimum employment period. During the qualifying period employees will be provided with appropriate on-going induction, support, assistance, resources and training to enable them to meet the required performance standards for the position.
