Career or travel? Why not do both!
Who says you can’t choose a career path and choose to have frequent adventures concurrently? You don’t have to take a year off from progressing through your career aspirations in order to tick off your travel bucket list. Welcome to Albany, WA! Where this beautiful city located along the great southern coast of Western Australia can offer you opportunities to advance in your career and give you the freedom to explore the wondrous natural establishments that surrounds Albany.
We have a full-time fixed term opportunity for an Advisor – Water Carting.
Immediate start until 29th September 2025.
You are methodical, analytical-minded, and great at communication.
You will play a critical role in overseeing carted water schemes in the Great Southern Region, ensuring that water quality and safety requirements are met, so we can consistently deliver safe water to our customers across those schemes.
This role has plenty of variety and diversity, with auditing contractors used to transport the potable and non-potable water, looking at OSH and water quality components including checking disinfection for safe drinking water, and ensuring that our guidelines and procedures for bulk water carting are implemented. You will help manage carting infrastructure from collection, transportation, and storage of bulk drinking water.
You will address and improve findings from internal and external audits and make sure that we are delivering on our procedures.
Do you fancy yourself to be analytical? You will be monitoring dam and tank water levels, tracking weather, and forecasting trends, and be proactive when we potentially will hit low levels.
You will be able to build strong relationships working alongside key suppliers and stakeholders including but not limited to the experts in our OSH, Procurement, and Water Quality teams.
You won’t be bound by your desk, regularly being out on ground talking to contractors regarding bulk water carting procedures and inspecting sites and the associated plant equipment. You will also inspect trucks looking at issues such as signage, maintenance systems and records and their general condition to perform the duties of transporting water supply, making sure our water carting operations are being undertaken safely and efficiently.
Enjoy the scenery when travelling throughout the region covering Albany, Esperance, Walpole, Ravensthorpe and beyond. Work vehicle is available to travel to the various regional towns.
What we can offer you.
You will receive all the training necessary to be successful in this role, including going through our Water Quality sampling training, which will be a great introduction to the responsibilities you will be involved in.
This role will be a fantastic opportunity for you to grow your skills and further your career with Water Corporation. You could find yourself following a career path in the regions working within OSH or becoming a Technical Advisor for example. We advocate for growth and development of our people.
Along with the opportunity to see a large part of the state with regular work travel to sites and towns across the region, we offer flexible work, RDO, and working from home days. Enjoy 3-day weekends each fortnight and go explore the Great Southern Region!
A diverse team with a supportive manager.
Fit right in with this close-knit team of thirteen. Work within a positive team culture that help each other to succeed. This role will work autonomously but appreciate that you have the team to lean on for support and advice. You will manage your planning and work schedule, organise your site visits and be confident and comfortable engaging and liaising with our contractors.
Should you need a hand, not a problem. Your manager is there to support you through your journey as an Advisor.
