Ideally positioned opposite Robina Hospital, Robina Private Hospital is the first and only private hospital to locate within the Robina Health Precinct and within close proximity to the precinct’s existing, extensive public services. Robina Private Hospital is a 90 bed private hospital with three specialist wards along with consultancy, outpatient, psychiatric day programs, day surgery, general medical and rehabilitation services.
We are seeking a Director of Nursing to be responsible for the coordination and management of clinical services provided by nursing teams, within a framework of continuous quality improvement, ensuring realistic utilisation of clinical resources, whilst providing guidance, supervision and support to the clinical management team and staff.
This role will also be overseeing and managing a 30 bed general adult mental health ward and staff, supported by clinical nurses.
The Director of Nursing will:
- Effectively manage clinical staff which promotes trust and teamwork
- Understand financial principles and take responsibility for meeting clinical budgets and KPIs
- Proactively identify need for improvement; and drive continuous quality and compliance
- Demonstrate honesty, integrity and respect for internal and external stakeholders
- Be solutions-focused and lead by example
Mandatory requirements:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Minimum of five (5) management experience in a healthcare setting
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding in the National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS), Riskman and complaints management.
- Demonstrated skills in hospital operations including patient flow, bed management, and staffing across nursing
- Strong leadership capabilities with a track record in effectively managing and developing staff and building/sustaining teams
- A comprehensive knowledge of hospital administration procedures, clinical governance and other quality related activities
- Personal maturity and strength of character to successfully grow within a dynamic organisation
- Collaborative interpersonal communication skills with well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Human Resources, Industrial Relation Acts, regulations and other statutory obligations
- Proficient with the use of computers and experience with electronic data systems/applications
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience as a Nurse Unit Manager or Director of Nursing within the private hospital sector
Vaccination Preventable Diseases
Evidence of vaccination and/or serology for the following VPD is requested:
- Annual flu vaccination
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Pertussis (whooping cough)
- Hepatitis B
- Diphtheria
- Tetanus
