We are seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager to oversee and execute IT-related project components within a time-critical work environment. This hands-on role requires expertise in producing and managing project schedules, coordinating activities across multiple IT teams and suppliers, and maintaining documentation and progress reports. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering project priorities on time, within budget, and meeting quality expectations, while managing risks, resources, and stakeholder communication effectively.
Role Title: Technical Project Manager
The Technical Project Manager reports to the Manager, SharePoint and Workplace Technology. The role involves managing IT components and schedules associated with the Print and Imaging as a Service (PIaaS) procurement initiative. The position requires working with ITP, partnerships, and suppliers to transition to the new service. Responsibilities include maintaining project documentation and artefacts, managing risks, and ensuring the timely delivery of priorities.
Key Duties:
Oversee multiple work streams and activities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Produce project artefacts aligned with industry-standard project management practices.
Plan and coordinate technical work packages and team activities.
Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Manage budgets, resources, and project estimates effectively.
Monitor progress and provide regular, accurate updates to stakeholders.
Coordinate meetings and produce related documentation such as action items and info graphics.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Proven ability to manage IT projects, including breakdown structures and task allocations.
Experience planning and scheduling projects with tools like MS Project, Jira, or Trello.
Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Visio, and SharePoint.
Strong skills in managing risks and issues with accurate documentation.
Ability to lead, motivate, and manage project teams while maintaining confidentiality.
Advanced interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders.
Experience in government procurement practices and the implementation of related services.
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
Certification or experience with project methodologies such as PMBOK, Prince2, or Agile.
Familiarity with formal board governance, including preparation and management of project documentation.
Experience delivering IT infrastructure projects within government or corporate environments.
