We are seeking a competent and meticulous finance officer/bookkeeper/accountant experienced in the use of Xero accounting software, who is looking for one to two days per week. The finance officer will be working with our CFO, internal accountant, external accountant, and program auditor and business accountant and the management team. To assist in the delivery of community disability and mental health support services to those most in need in our community.

The position will be located within or across PsychMed’s South Australian offices and will directly report to the Finance Manager.
Essential criteria for the role include:
- Eligibility to work in Australia
- Experience working with Xero software and accounting principles, preferable Xero Advisor certification
- Bank Reconciliation
- Accounts payable & receivable
- Bookkeeping
- Experience with Google Suite, especially Google Sheets and Google Drive
- Ability to efficiently deal with a large number of transactions
- DCSI Working with Children or equivalent
- Sound computer skills
- Knowledge of accounting, commerce management or equivalent
- Current or previous studies at a university or relevant institution

Duties:
- Reconcile invoices in accounting software.
- Produce Reconciliation reports.
- Reconcile receipts in trust and operating accounts.
- Reconcile cash and remittances.
- Print and collate invoices, including; checking for duplicates, entering into accounting software, allocating appropriately, and filing for payment.
- Assist with generating financial reports and summarising in team meetings.
- Assist with maintenance of fixed assets register and depreciation schedules.
- Maintain balance sheets and reporting in collaboration with senior accountant and CFO.
