The role
The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of the Program, act as a key program contact, work with multiple Program stakeholders, and lead the ongoing development of the Departments' Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Environmental Health Plan and strategic priorities of the Program. This includes the development of place-based and co-designed Environmental Health Plans for the Indigenous local governments included in the Program and delivery of the ATSIEHP review outcomes.
The successful person
You will have:
- Demonstrated knowledge of First Nations health reform agenda, and national and state policy frameworks related to improving health outcomes for First Nations peoples.
- Demonstrated experience in project management including the ability to independently lead project activities, proactively and effectively engage with First nations and other stakeholders and deliver quality outcomes within constrained timeframes.
- Highly developed organisational skills and experience in proactively identifying and analysing problems, developing, and implementing remedial strategies and exercising initiative and responsibility to achieve project outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to use high level communication, interpersonal, consultation, partnership, and negotiation skills to achieve project goals, and influence the decisions, actions, or perceptions of stakeholders.
- Highly motivated with a demonstrated flexibility in approach to work and working environment and willingness to participate in cross program and departmental initiatives to address critical issues as required by management.
