About the role
Hakea Grove Aged Care is seeking an experienced Chef/Cook to join our team on a part-time or casual basis at our care facility in Hamlyn Terrace, NSW. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for our residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met with care and attention. If you love Maggi Beer's philosophy that's a bonus for us. We have a very supportive, experienced Catering Manager with many years of aged care & dementia experience.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing a variety of delicious, nutritious meals and snacks for our aged care residents
• Ensuring meals are served at the appropriate temperatures and presentation standards
• Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment
• Assisting with menu planning and recipe development to cater for different dietary requirements
• Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations

What we're looking for

• Experience as a Chef/Cook in an aged care, healthcare or hospitality setting (desirable, but not essential)
• Formal qualifications in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience highly regarded
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with residents and staff
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Knowledge of dietary requirements for the elderly, including texture-modified diets
• Excellent food preparation and presentation skills
• Current Food Safety Supervisor certification desirable
