About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Chef to join our kitchen team at our client's aged care Port Macquarie, NSW.

Shift Schedule

• Monday to Wednesday from 6:00am till 2:00pm.
• Saturday and Sunday from 09:00am till 5:30pm.
• Weekend and Public Holiday Loadings apply.

*The successful applicant must have received at least 2 doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine, and provide a current Police check, or be willing to apply for one*

Skills and experience

• 2+ years' experience in a similar role - aged care experience highly regarded.
• Cert III in commercial cookery desirable
• Experience in large volume cooking as well as work autonomously and in group settings
• Reliable and punctual
• Collaborative and team player
• Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines.
• Have ability to work unsupervised.
• Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients.
• Experienced in ordering, delivery and handling/control of stock.
• Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients.
• High level of QA, WH&S, HACCP and Food Safety knowledge.
• Must have reliable transport.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cook tasty home style meals for elderly residents.
• Cleaning of kitchen area
• Adhering to and completing quality assurance documents
• Washing dishes in the main kitchen and plating of meals
• Assist the Chef Manager as required in preparation of food/beverages.
