About the role
Join the dynamic team at Opal Alterations and Dry Cleaning as a permenant full-time assistant manager. This role is based in our Canberra Centre and Belconnen locations, where you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers and supporting the overall operations of our workshop.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Processing customer orders and payments
• Providing guidance and advice to customers on alteration and dry cleaning services
• Pinning and fitting customers’ garments to ensure accuracy in alterations
• Maintaining a clean and organised work environment
• Supporting the seamstresses and tailors with any customer inquiries
• Handling customer complaints and queries in a timely and effective manner
• Promoting Opal Alterations and Dry Cleaning's products and services

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a customer service or retail role, ideally within a fashion or sewing environment

• Basic understanding of sewing, alterations, or fashion design

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

• Proficient in using point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills

• A keen eye for detail and a passion for providing exceptional customer service

• Availability to work on weekends or at least one day on the weekends
