About the Role
The Non-Admitted NWAU officer, reporting directly to the Specialist Clinics Operations Manager, will operate under the governance of the Non-Admitted Working Group. The role will be responsible for ensuring ongoing organisational support for capturing, reporting, and correcting errors across all non-admitted generating activities
The Non-Admitted NWAU role will work closely with the Non-Admitted Working Group to establish a centralised support hub enabling clinicians and administrative staff to contact for assistance focusing on:
- Education and training of local administrative/nursing staff
- Recording and capturing contacts outside of specialist clinics setting
- Recording clinical phone calls
- Identifying and reporting new MDM (Multidisciplinary Meeting) activity
Classifications for the position is HS3 - HS25 ($74,448.40 - $82,305.60 per annum).
The role is also to provide efficient and effective administrative oversight for the Specialist Clinics MBS billing team, helping to with the receipt of MBS appointment activity in-line with Commonwealth and SVHM funding guidelines.
This Non admitted NWAU liaison position is based in the Daly Wing at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne (SVHM), Fitzroy campus.
Your contribution
To be successful in this position you will have:
- Act as a resource and educator for organisational staff helping establish work processes that identifies and captures current and new non-admitted NWAU activities.
- Act as a resource for all departments to help with NWAU error rectification and general queries,
- Help with setting up new NWAU clinics ensuring the correct setup helping optimise organisational financial performance.
- Develop relationships across all areas that deliver non-admitted NWAU service events across the health service
- Help to identify and generate additional NWAU opportunities with relevant stakeholders
- Assist in setup and ongoing maintenance of monitoring systems related to NWAU performance
- Provide updates at the Non-Admitted Working Group and Executive meetings as required
- Undertake other duties as specified by the Specialist Clinics Operations Manager and Administration Manager
- Support and backfill the Specialist Clinics Administration Manager during times of planned and unplanned leave as required
- Attend and participate in Daily Management System in the Specialist Clinics
- Represent the values of St Vincent's Health by delivering a high standard of customer service
- Act as a resource and educator for the Specialist Clinics MBS billing team

About the Departments
The Specialist Clinics department provides over 90,000 non-admitted patient appointments yearly across 22 medical and surgical specialties, and receives over 30,000 new referrals per annum. Specialist Clinics provide a gateway to the hospital for patients requiring elective surgery and ongoing chronic disease management through both public and MBS funded non-admitted activities.
