Your Opportunity:
As a Technical Officer - Secondary Systems, based at either Southport, Caboolture, Geebung or Raceview. You will be working with a dynamic team with Protection Scheme experience to provide technical advice and direction for construction, testing and maintenance activities for secondary systems including Protection Schemes and Instrument Transformers.
Here’s how you’ll do it:
- Investigate plant condition, identify emerging trends and provide technical advice on asset return to service decisions.
- Provide development and technical consultancy services to internal and external customers for protection schemes and associated network plant.
- Work with field staff to provide technical advice around testing philosophies, staging of projects and network outages in regards to secondary systems.
The remuneration for your new role starts from $171,483 per annum + 14.75% superannuation for a 9-day fortnight and from $193,774 per annum +14.75% superannuation for a 10-day fortnight.

What you’ll bring:
- Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certificate as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic.
- Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering (Power).
- Detailed knowledge of substation construction, maintenance practices and condition assessment techniques, with a focus on secondary systems.
- Extensive experience with Protection Schemes and Instrument Transformers.
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship or an Australian permanent residency
We’d also love you to have:
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service related to Secondary systems to Protection Technician teams.
- Availability to participate in a standby roster as there will be a level of ‘out of hours’ to support network issues.
- ‘C’ Class licence essential as this position will require you to travel.
