About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Paralegal to join our Melbourne Class Actions Team on a 6-month fixed term contract, working with our Settlement Administration Team. We will also consider those looking to work part-time (minimum 4 days per week). This role will involve working with a team of senior Lawyers on a high-profile settlement administrations. This will be a busy and exciting opportunity for a high performing individual seeking to join Australia’s leading class actions practice. The successful candidate will possess excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail, effective communications skills and a commitment to social justice.
Our Class Actions practice area is the largest in Australia and we are leaders in the field. We have recovered more than $3 billion for groups, individuals, shareholders and businesses that have suffered loss due to illegal behaviour by large corporations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing communications with group members, including telephone calls and responding to group member emails in response to requests for information
- Reviewing and updating claims data
- Assistance in resolving complex group member claim issues
- Participate in Class Actions events/activities where appropriate
The experience we are looking for
- Prior experience as a Paralegal is desirable but not essential
- A strong academic background and/or experience in a similar paralegal role
- Excellent organisational skills, with meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively
- Experience in using Microsoft Excel, updating databases, and/or manipulating data is advantageous
- An understanding of our client base and the capacity to demonstrate empathy and compassion
- Capability to prioritise tasks, adapt to a rapidly evolving environment, and demonstrate outstanding organisational skills
- A genuine passion for law and an eagerness to contribute within a collaborative work setting
