We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Utilities Manager to join our dynamic team and lead the development and management of our utility services portfolio.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
As the Utilities Manager, you will be at the forefront of shaping our utilities strategy and operational effectiveness. You will lead a talented team dedicated to delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality utility services while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Your strategic vision and operational expertise will help us achieve our goals of sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop, implement, and review the Utilities portfolio's contributions to the council delivery plan, ensuring alignment with service delivery targets and timely reporting of performance.
- Financial Management: Oversee the Utilities portfolio of budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness with a focus on innovation and efficiency improvement.
- Expert Advisory: Facilitate informed decision-making by providing specialist advice on utilities infrastructure management, encompassing water supply, sewerage, stormwater, levees, and resource recovery.
- Community Engagement: Lead communication and engagement efforts with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance the Utilities portfolio's reliable service and impact to service through approved council channels.
- Team Development: Manage and mentor staff in accordance with Council’s values and policies, fostering a supportive and productive workplace culture.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor of Engineering or similar, or equivalent experience in a comparable role combined with ongoing professional development.
- Contemporary experience managing the operation of civil engineering infrastructure.
- Contemporary knowledge and experience in contract and project management, including identifying and reporting potential risks and mitigating strategies to Council.
- Contemporary experience developing and implementing strategies and plans to deliver service unit objectives within scope and in accordance with policy and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and provide ideas and advice on innovation, change and service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a breadth of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and manage staff consistent with a culture of customer service excellence and Council’s values
- Demonstrated understanding and competence in contemporary risk management and Work Health and Safety principles and practice.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
