The Role:
As a CNC Machinist, your primary responsibilities will be to set, troubleshoot, and manufacture precision components in line with technical drawings, ensuring the highest quality standards. You will also provide feedback and process improvement suggestions to optimise production.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Set, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines (3-5 axis milling and turning).
Maintain a high level of autonomy, including presetting cutting tools and working with probes and fixtures.
Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Promote and uphold quality awareness and compliance with AS9100 standards.
Assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.
Skills & Experience:
Relevant trade qualification in CNC machining or Cert III in Engineering (Fitter and Turner preferable) or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years' experience in CNC machine setting, operation, and use of measuring tools.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Experience working with both milling and turning CNC machines.
CMM experience is advantageous.
Defence industry knowledge is a plus but not essential.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Exposure to quality systems is desirable.
Basic computer literacy (Excel & Word).
