The Role:
Kempe Engineering are actively seeking a Rotating Shift Mechanical Fitter (Day and Nightshift) to join our Mechanical Maintenance team, based at our clients Paper Mill at their Coolaroo based Melbourne facility.
The rotating shift pattern is as per the following:
2 Day shifts are worked by the employee (7am to 7pm), E.g., Mon & Tues
2 Night shifts are worked by the employee (7pm to 7am) E.G., Wed & Thurs
At the completion of the 2nd night shift the employee has a 4 Day break
The above shift pattern runs for a 7 week cycle period.
At the completion of the 7 week cycle the employee has a 2 week paid break
At the completion of the 2 week break another 7 week shift rotation is then worked by the employee.
At the completion of this cycle the employee then has a 3 week paid break
The shift pattern provides a fantastic work / lifestyle balance. In total 152 shifts are worked per annum. There is also opportunities for additional shifts from time to time.
In this role, the successful applicants will be responsible for the provision of mechanical services including scheduled and unscheduled installation, testing, maintenance, fault finding, quality equipment repairs of rollers, conveyors, various style of pumps, to our client.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Australian recognized trade qualification Mechanical Trade (Fitter, Mechanic etc.) or equivalent
- Solid understanding and awareness of HSE requirements, responsibilities and obligations
- Heavy Fixed plant installation / maintenance experience highly regarded
- Paper Mill, Paper / Pulp and Recycling Industry experience preferable
- EWP, WAH & Confined space certificates or willing to attain
- An ability to proactively work in a fast-paced environment
- Disciplined attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and team working skills
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical
- Current driver’s license
