CK Recruitment are currently seeking qualified Arborisst or experienced Tree Workers to carry out tree maintenance and associated work.

The position is for a Local Council based in Meadowbank and are Casual roles (Full time hours) with permanent opportunities for the right candidates.

You will be responsible for ensuring work is carried out in a timely and efficient manner whilst complying with OH&S procedures.

As part of the Tree Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance of vegetation and trees within the city area including pruning and removals if and when required.

These duties include the maintenance of the council’s trees, daily checking of various machinery, including chainsaws, and providing on-site traffic control on occasion.

To be successful you will have a Certificate III in Arboriculture or Cert II with AHCARB203A Perform above-ground pruning, have experience in tree pruning and removal, a White Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement) and a Class MR or HR driver’s licence (or ability to obtain within the first three months of employment). First Aid qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Essential:

• Certificate III in Arboriculture or Certificate II with AHCARB203A Perform above-ground pruning, and AHCARB204A Undertake standard climbing techniques
• Current MR driver's license or ability to obtain within a 6-month period
• Suitable experience in the field of arboriculture
• Recognised training and experience in chainsaw operation at Levels 1 and 2
• RTA Approved Traffic Controller Accreditation or ability and willingness to obtain within first 6 months of employment
• Demonstrated experience in the use of a large tree chipper
• Relevant recognised training and experience in basic arboriculture tasks including climbing and rigging
• NSW General Construction Induction Card (white card)
• Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Co-ordinate work site activities
• Senior First Aid Certificate
• Work safely near live electrical apparatus qualification, or ability and willingness to obtain within first 6 months of employment
• Skills in the operation of computers, mobile phones and tablets.

Desirable:

• Relevant recognised training and experience in Chainsaw Operation at Levels 3 and 4
• Australian Qualifications Framework Certificate III in Horticulture
• Aerial Rescue Statement of Attainment
• Pesticide/herbicide application accreditation (AQF 3)
• Elevated Work Platform operator license
• Experience in the planting and establishment of trees
• Operate and maintain stump grinding machines.
