Guerinoni & Son are seeking an experienced Human Resource/ Compliance team leader to come on board with the skill and knowledge required to review and build upon our existing HR/ Compliance systems. With this new position we are aiming to strengthen an existing team and provide mentorship to current administration staff and future trainees.
With a seasonal fluctuation of staff, numbers vary from 30-50 employee/ contractors/ subcontractors. Recruitment and prompt onboarding of operators during our peak construction period March – November is key.
Our staff retention says a lot about our work environment. We can boast that we have 10 key staff that have remained with the company for over 10 years with many more that have seen 17 – 35 years within the company.

In regards to the role, the below highlight but do not limit over all job description;
Human Resources
- Acting as a point of contact for HR related queries and providing advisory support to employees and managers
- Collaborate with management and team leaders to assist with resourcing
- End to end recruitment from posting job ads through to phone screening, setting up interviews and conducting reference checks;
- Prepare employment contracts and other documentation
- Process employee changes
- Ensure employee file compliance
- Manage employee asset register
- Manage employee training matrix, licence registers etc
- Ensuring all internal training and inductions are complete and booking external training as required;
- Manage on-boarding including booking medicals, inductions, site clearances, issue PPE etc
- Ensure “ready to start” processes including computer access, introductions etc
- Assist with Position Descriptors and associated processes
- Assist with Employment related policies and procedure
- Process workers compensation matters
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for all audits
- Coordinate, monitor and maintain the WA Heavy Vehicles Accreditation system, including Quarterly Reports
- Update the Service, Fault & Repair registers and maintain the vehicle and plant lists
- Liaise with the workshop staff and workshop supervisor regarding fault repairs and vehicle servicing
- Organise yearly compliance Audits ensuring compliance with the WAHVA system and other internal and external audits
- Coordinate, monitor and maintain records and documentation for the Human Resources Management System
- Coordinate, monitor and maintain records and documentation for Occupational Health and Safety Management System
- Ensure an internal Audit of all Management Systems is conducted at least yearly
To be successful in the role you must have:
- Previous experience in a similar Human Resources role;
- Highly proficient in all Microsoft Office programs – Word, Excel, Outlook;
- Excellent organisation and time management skills;
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders;
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
- High level of self motivation with the ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously;
- Desire to support and mentor other administration staff
- Effective problem solving skills;
- Current drivers’ licence;
- Qualifications in Human Resources
