About Arkus Industries:
Arkus Industries is a small, family-run business committed to providing high-quality products and services to both commercial and residential building projects across Canberra and the surrounding areas. As a close-knit team, we prioritize the well-being of our employees and value every individual’s contribution. We are looking to expand our team with a Logistics and Trade Support Coordinator who is eager to grow with us, invest in our success, and be a vital part of the Arkus family.
Position Overview:
We’re not just hiring for a role; we’re looking for a passionate individual who is eager to become part of the Arkus family, deeply committed to our success, and motivated to contribute their skills and energy to help us grow and succeed together. This role involves managing deliveries, supporting our workshop, and assisting with day-to-day operations. You’ll play a crucial role in the smooth running of our operations, from organizing deliveries and quality checking products to maintaining vehicles and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our workshop.
If you are someone with a can-do attitude, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, this is a role where you can make a significant impact. We’re looking for someone who’s not only here for a job, but for a long-term career with a team that cares about you as much as you care about us.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading coils of metal.
- Organizing metal offcuts.
- Transporting scrap metal to the recycling facility.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the factory at all times.
- Organize and carry out deliveries to commercial and residential building projects across Canberra and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload supplier trucks, ensuring all products are handled safely and efficiently.
- Quality check all incoming and outgoing deliveries to ensure products meet Arkus Industries’ high standards.
- Maintain company vehicles, ensuring they are in good working order and ready for daily tasks.
- Oversee the work yard, ensuring it is clean, organized, and operational.
- Assist in the workshop, including tasks like:
- Collaborate closely with a small, tight-knit team, supporting and assisting where needed to ensure smooth operations.
What We Require:
- High standards – We take pride in everything we do and expect the same from you. We want someone committed to delivering excellent results and upholding the Arkus values.
- Hard work and dedication – This is a hands-on role, and we need someone ready to go the extra mile and actively contribute to our team.
- Commitment to the role – We’re looking for someone who is invested in our success as much as their own, and who is dedicated, reliable, and passionate about their work.
- A can-do attitude – You’ll need to use your initiative, apply common sense, and work independently with minimal supervision, taking ownership of your tasks.
- Team player – We value someone who actively supports teammates, collaborates effectively, and steps in to help when needed to ensure the team’s success.
- Attention to detail – From quality checking deliveries to maintaining vehicles and the yard, we value precision and consistency.
- A valid driver’s license is essential.
- A valid forklift license is required, or you must be willing to obtain one at your own expense. ARKUS will reimburse the cost after 12 months of employment.
- Previous experience in logistics, trades support, or a similar role is preferred.
- Physical ability to handle tasks like loading/unloading materials and working outdoors.
- Commitment to safety – We need someone who ensures a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Family-friendly work hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:54 AM - 3:30 PM, and Friday, 6:54 AM - 1:00 PM, offering you more time for family and personal life.
- A close-knit, supportive team environment where you’re not just an employee – you’re part of the Arkus family.
- Occasional social gatherings to celebrate successes and strengthen relationships.
- Opportunities for personal growth and skills development in a small, growing company.
- Job security in a stable, family-owned business where your contributions truly make a difference.
- Employee recognition – We value hard work and dedication and take the time to recognize your efforts.
How to Apply:
If you’re an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who thrives in a hands-on role, values high standards, and wants to be part of a team where your success matters just as much as ours, we’d love to hear from you! Please send your resume and cover letter to [email protected] or apply online with SEEK.
