About the Role
As the Assistant Manager at the Preston location, you'll play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day operations while supporting a small, seasoned team. This role is all about leadership-working within a solid, long-serving team and leading them towards continued growth, with the potential to grow into a Store Manager position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the store
- Leading a close-knit team of experienced staff (2 full-time staff with 10+ years' experience and one with 15+ years)
- Maintaining high standards of customer service, ensuring every shopper has an excellent experience
- Managing stock levels, product displays, and store presentation to ensure a visually appealing environment
- Encouraging staff development and motivating the team to meet sales targets
- Assisting with store administration and financial reporting
- Working with the Store Manager and the team to continuously improve the store's performance
Ideal Candidate:
We're looking for an Assistant Manager who can confidently step into a role where leadership and a good understanding of team dynamics are key. With a team of experienced staff, you'll need to understand their working styles, lead them without imposing change, and guide them towards growth. Fashion or home décor experience is beneficial, especially in a retail management capacity.
You should be adaptable, reliable, and have a strong customer service mindset, ready to lead by example.
Working Hours:
- Tuesday - Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Sunday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- No late nights, offering a healthy work-life balance.
What We Offer:
- Salary: $58,000 - $60,000 + Super
- Incentives based on performance and sales targets
