ACTOR TRAINER - Screen Acting
Perform Australia is an acclaimed drama school and registered training organisation, delivering performing arts education the Australian Capital Territory.
Our mission is to launch passion-driven actors.
As part of our mission, we are now seeking a part-time, dynamic actor trainer with a skill set in screen acting to work on our vocational education programs (10915NAT Certificate IV in Acting and 11017NAT Advanced Diploma of Performance). If you:
- Know how to teach (as opposed to knowing how to act or direct)
- Hold a TAE40122 or TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or are willing to obtain one
- Hold a minimum Advanced Diploma qualification in acting - Bachelor preferred
- Have recent professional performance credits across screen and stage, and be currently connected with industry
- Are able to create a good rapport with adult students of any age (average student age is mostly between 17-25, but we’ll often have older students in their 30s, 40s and 50s).

You will work at our studio in Griffith (near Manuka) in Canberra.
You must have professional screen acting credits and a knowledge of the screen industry to apply for this role. While we are currently seeking a screen tutor there may be other work across other areas of actor training for a versatile tutor (e.g. Voice, Directing, Devising, etc).
Pay is in keeping with the Educational Services (Post Secondary Education) Award, and part-time hours vary term to term depending on subjects offered in a given semester.
A Working With Vulnerable People Card is required for this role.
