Junction Support Services is looking for a Vocational Education Specialist to join our growing team in Wodonga!
The Vocational Education Specialist will sit within the Care Services team. This team consists of Residential Care Management, Intensive Case Management Services (ICMS), Targeted Care Packages, Support Coordination and Residential Care Youth Workers who currently provide services in a residential setting to children and young people. We provide specialised, comprehensive, and nurturing service delivery to children and young people in care through our quality systems, theoretical frameworks and experience in tailored supports.
The Vocational Education Specialist will work within the residential care home, and the broader educational and vocational service system, to support children and young people in Junction's two-bedroom residential care home to engage in a pathway. They will ensure each young person is provided with every opportunity to engage in their choice of education or training and be supported to maintain this.
A key focus of this role will be to work alongside the Therapeutic Specialist and the Care Team to address the educational needs of the individual and break down any education or vocational barriers, including the development and review of education, vocation, and employment assessments.
Selection Criteria:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Education or other relevant field, and relevant experience to this role
- Demonstrated ability and experience in working within or with the educational sector, and with working with young people with multiple and complex needs, including those who have a lived experience of abuse and neglect.
- Highly developed communication skills and experience in liaising with multiple professionals.
- Highly developed ability to provide guidance and advice to other professionals.
- Knowledge of the complexity of the service system involved in providing services to statutory clients.
