About this role
We have an immediate vacancy for 1 Permanent Full Time Dental Therapist on the Jurien Mobile Dental Therapy Centre.
The successful Dental Therapist will provide routine dental care for enrolled children in our mobile service. You will be responsible for maintaining patient records in accordance with Dental Health Services policies and giving guidance to Dental Clinic Assistants.
Other duties include, but are not limited to provision and preventive oral health services to children and provide oral health education to individuals, schools and community groups.
Location
Whilst this position is based out of the John Butler Dental Therapy Centre, mobile clinic stopping locations also include: Lancelin, Badgingarra, Jurien Bay, Leeman, Moora, Bindoon and Gingin. Staff will return to Perth on weekends using the vehicle provided. Accommodation and allowances are payable whilst outreach services are being provided at the designated stopping points.
From Lancelin to Leeman, a 263km stretch north of Perth along the Indian Ocean Drive, you can enjoy all the natural beauty of the WA coastline, whether it is a dip in the Indian Ocean on one of the Turquoise Coast’s beautiful beaches or watching the sealions play off the shores of Leeman. Inland you can embrace the history of the oldest rural town of Gingin or be captivated by the Wildflower Trail on the banks of the Moore River in Moora. Eligibility to Apply:
Applicants must be eligibile for registration by the Dental Board of Australia as a Dental Therapist or Oral Health Therapist. For further information please refer to the Dental Board of Australia.
Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.
This position is subject to a Western Australian Working With Children (WWC) Check. For further information please refer to the WWC website at: https://workingwithchildren.wa.gov.au
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
