We have an immediate vacancies for two (2) Permanent Full Time Dental Therapists to join our Dental Health Services (DHS) team.
Attraction and Retention Incentive (ARI)
An ARI ranging from $6000 to $10,000 pa. has been approved and is payable to Dental Therapists who are engaged in regional Western Australia before 30 June 2025. The ARI is payable in three instalments subject to meeting eligibility requirements. The ARI will apply to positions based in the South West, Great Southern, Wheatbelt, Goldfields, Kimberley, Pilbara, and Midwest. For more information please contact Keeleigh O’Regan on 08 9313 0529.
What is our Dental Therapist role?
Dental Therapists provide routine dental care for enrolled children in our School Dental Therapy Centres.
Duties also include, but are not limited to provision and preventive oral health services to children and provide oral health education to individuals, schools and community groups.
Staff work within the Kalgoorlie area which includes clinics including South Kalgoorlie, North Kalgoorlie, Boulder. Staff may be required to complete deployments to other locations within the wider Kalgoorlie area utilising the Kalgoorlie Dental Mobile. These locations include Coolgardie, East Kalgoorlie, Leonora, Leinster, Laverton, Norseman and Kambalda.

Area Profile
DHS is part of the North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) and is the largest public dental health services provider in WA, operating state-wide from a network of fixed and mobile clinics, funded by the WA Government. DHS provides the School Dental Service for children aged 5-16 years, General Dental Services to eligible adults with a current health care card or pension concession card, Subsidy Schemes and Special Dental Services.
Location
These positions are based in Kalgoorlie, a mining town rich in history 595km east of Perth, with daily 1 hour flights and connections to Eastern state destinations. Given its wealthy history, Kalgoorlie has some of the most elaborate heritage building that have been retained and is home of the iconic Broken Hill Hotel and more. The climate lends itself to exploring the bushland and neighbouring mining communities year-round. If this is not of interest, there are sporting teams of every code and a choice of 3 gyms. Or, if you are missing the sea, the beautiful Esperance coast is a short drive South for a fabulous weekend getaway.

Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
