ABOUT THE POSITION
Are you a results-driven leader with a passion for making a tangible difference in your community? Join us as a Project Manager for Natural Disaster Recovery and lead vital flood recovery projects under the OLG NSW Severe Weather & Flood Grant program. You'll play a key role in transforming the community’s resilience through effective project delivery, collaborating with Transport for NSW, contractors, and stakeholders to bring positive change to the region.
DUTIES
- From initial concept design to final delivery, manage all stages of natural disaster recovery works.
- Work closely with Transport for NSW, statutory bodies, contractors, and the community to drive project success.
- Develop cost estimates, reports, and tender documents while ensuring seamless project approvals and negotiations.
- Facilitate consultations with local communities to ensure their needs are met while keeping them informed.
- Oversee contractor performance, ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to budgets. Administer contracts and authorize payments.
- Ensure all work complies with Work Health & Safety legislation and Council policies, delivering projects safely and efficiently.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience managing disaster recovery projects, particularly flood-related works is essential
- Expertise in contract management, cost estimation, tendering, and project delivery
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with government agencies, contractors, and the community
- A relevant qualification in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field is essential
