As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and motivated Financial and Systems Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team.
About the Role
Forsight is embarking on journey of discovery and change and as part of the change implementing a new finance and accounting software. As the Financial and Systems Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing Forsight’s transition to a new, robust accounting and ERP system. You will also manage the financial operations and play a role in optimising our financial and IT systems. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, enhance systems efficiencies, and support strategic decision-making. Reporting to the CFO, you will work collaboratively across departments to improve financial and IT processes and data integrity.
- Key Responsibilities:
Manage Financial Accounting functions, ensuring seamless, timely and accurate accounts payable processes, oversee employee and client expenses management system, performing GL account clearing and month-end journals. - Support the finance team with cash forecasting, bank reconciliations and GL reconciliations
- Conduct monthly financial close processes, including general ledger reviews and variance analysis and financial matrixes.
- Assist in preparing consolidated monthly finance reports.
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing accounting systems, controls and processes.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic planning.
- Oversee and optimise financial systems, ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.
- Work closely with IT and external vendors to implement and maintain financial software and other organisational software solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improving financial processes and reporting efficiency.
- Support and back up for payroll processing and oversee accounts payable/receivable functions as required.
- Manage Forsight’s vehicle fleet.
- Assist in the development and documentation of finance policies and procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree in Accounting and Finance and CPA qualifications or working towards completion.
- Demonstrated proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managing implementation of a new Accounting System.
- Knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in the NDIS not-for-profit or disability sector (highly desirable but not essential).
