About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, the Financial Accountant is responsible for the operational financial leadership and overall management of Allambee's financial systems and processes. This includes maintenance of the accounting and financial activities of the organisation including financial and management reporting.

About You:
Allambee is looking for a motivated finance professional with experience in the not-for-profit sector who is keen to be part of an organisation which is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of their community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and support to the management team in all aspects of financial management.
- Ensure that the Organisation’s financial practices are consistent with best practice and comply with current accounting standards, contractual, legislative, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the development, implementation, ongoing operation and monitoring of costing and budgeting systems.
- Management of Allambee’s financial accounts and accounting system in accordance with current accounting standards, contractual, legislative, and regulatory requirements. Including payroll, invoicing, receipts and payments, BAS, IAS, and monthly reconciliations.
- Provide timely financial reports and monitor the effectiveness of accounting and financial management information systems and financial controls.
- Lead and manage annual external audit.
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in accounting (or similar).
- Membership to CPA/CA (or working towards) is desirable.
- At least 4 years' experience in a similar finance role. Experience in a not-for-profit organisation is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and their application in a business environment including experience in conducting month end reporting, trend analysis and reconciliation.
- Demonstrated experience with preparation of Statutory Financial Statements.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of financial processes including: payroll, salary sacrifice, and superannuation; invoicing, receipts and payments; monthly BAS and fortnightly IAS reporting requirements; monthly journals including month end accruals and prepayments; assets register and depreciation schedules.
- Demonstrated high level organisational, planning, leadership and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex systems and processes and effectively analyse data from multiple sources.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the use of MYOB and Microsoft Office including excel.
- Understanding of responsibility and compliance to relevant legislation e.g., Workplace Health and Safety.
The successful candidate must have current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check (or equivalent), and a current WA Driver’s Licence (or equivalent).
