Role Overview:

Due to the continued growth of the company, we are looking for a qualified full-time Accountant to join us. In this role, you will oversee all day-to-day accounting and financial functions, assist management in decision-making across various aspects, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. collect and analyse financial data to prepare accurate financial statements, including the profit & loss statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and corporate tax return;

1. manage the full accounting lifecycle, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting;

1. maintain ledgers and ensure complete and accurate accounting records;

1. assess the company’s financial position by analysing financial and accounting date to support strategic decision-making;

1. develop budgets and financial forecasts, monitor expenses, and assist with business planning to ensure financial sustainability;

1. reconcile loan transaction, interest income, and fee revenues;

1. monitoring loan repayments and outstanding balances to maintain financial accuracy;
2. track interest rates and cash flow, maintain necessary records, evaluate financial risks, and assess investment projects;

1. notify management of significant changes and provide insights for decision making;

1. evaluate financial risks related to loans, credit exposure, and investments to safeguard the company’s financial stability;

1. provide financial and taxation advice on asset and liabilities allocation, borrowing strategies, and debt management to ensure the safe and efficient allocation of company assets;

1. collaborate with other teams on sales analysis, credit forecasts, financial investment, and loan distributions to optimise business operations;

1. liaising with key stakeholders, including directors, investors, borrowers, lenders, and regulatory bodies, to address enquires and solve financial issues;

1. maintain the integrity and security of the company’s internal accounting system;

1. stay up to date with accounting standards, financial regulations, tax requirements, and compliance obligations to ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.

Requirements:

• at least have an Australian bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related field;
• minimum 3 years of full-time experience in an accounting role, preferably within the financial services or lending industry; experience with Big 4 accounting firms is highly regarded;
• strong knowledge of accounting frameworks, financial reporting standards, and financial management principles relevant to lending and commercial finance;
• CPA or CA qualification required;
• highly organised with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively;
• exceptional attention to detail;
• excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders;
• proactive, responsible, and reliable, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic financial environment.
