Moreton ATSICHS operates a growing network of healthcare clinics for local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Our model of care provides holistic health and wellbeing services to support our Community across their lifespan. We bring together primary care, allied health, dental, mental health and wellbeing, maternity and early childhood, disability services, specialist services, and aged care as one team focussed on clients’ individual needs and goals.

About the role
As a Welcome Officer, you will play a vital role as the first point of contact for community members and visitors. The role is dedicated to creating a culturally safe and supportive welcoming environment, ensuring all individuals feel respected, valued and support as they seek our services. The role will guide community members through MATSICHS services, offering tailored support to help clients navigate the services available. Through providing cultural appropriate approach, this role is essential in strengthening connections and empowering community.
- Demonstrating respect and fostering propa conduct by welcoming and greeting our community members and visitors ensuing culturally respectful and inclusive environment
- Support & Guidance – Assist ATSI community members in accessing relevant services within the clinic.
- Cultural Liaison – act as liaison between the community and service providers to ensure culturally appropriate service delivery.
- Connect community members to relevant internal services with a smooth handover
- Work in collaboration with the Community Liaison Officer to ensure practices which foster integration, collaboration and cohesion within the clinic and across MATSICHS
About you

- Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
- Current Criminal History Check
- Current QLD Blue Card – Required prior to your commencement
- Current CPR Certificate (willingness to obtain upon commencement)

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) leads the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to the Indigenous population of South East Queensland (SEQ).
The Institute was established in 2009 by the four Community Controlled Health Services in SEQ to provide for the needs of Australia’s second largest Indigenous population.
