The Opportunity

Join our team as the PMO Services Lead at the University of the Sunshine Coast, where you will play an essential role in overseeing our organisation-wide IT projects. You will lead with direction and operational excellence, ensuring the seamless delivery of IT initiatives across four key areas. Your impact will extend to developing and standardising project management systems and practices, administering our IT project framework, and maintaining rigorous project assurance and governance. Collaborating closely with department and school leaders, you'll manage project interdependencies, offer strategic guidance for prioritisation, and provide expert oversight for reporting and tracking. This role is fundamental in fostering organisational change management to drive successful project outcomes while building strong internal and external relationships.

You will

  • shape and maintain a clear, consistent project management framework that sets our IT projects up for success;
  • oversee a diverse portfolio of IT projects, keeping things on track while managing risks along the way;
  • ensure strong governance, quality assurance, and financial oversight, delivering clear and timely project reporting; and
  • foster a collaborative and supportive project environment by mentoring, coaching, and guiding teams and stakeholders.

But beyond the technical know-how, you're all about collaboration—building strong relationships, upskilling teams, and guiding stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes. You will possess:

  • Extensive experience in delivering projects and programs, with a strong grasp of project management frameworks and tools like ServiceNow, Asana, and Microsoft 365.
  • Insight into senior leadership and management within complex service organisations, understanding how to navigate priorities and drive outcomes.
  • Deep knowledge of project and change management, budgeting, financials, procurement, and reporting, ensuring projects run smoothly from start to finish.
  • A natural communicator and influencer, skilled at engaging with all levels of management and stakeholders to create positive, mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Agile and adaptable, able to juggle multiple initiatives, pivot when needed, and embrace change with confidence.
  • Sharp business acumen, with the ability to research, analyse, and develop smart solutions that optimise business processes.
  • A strong understanding of IT policy, compliance, cyber security, and risk management in large organisations, with the ability to work within and innovate around these frameworks.
