About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced IT Program/Portfolio Manager for a Australian Household brand to focus on delivering disruptive, industry-changing projects, with the responsibility for a portfolio of around 40 operationally critical applications.

You will oversee strategy, delivery, and vendor management, ensuring the seamless integration of technology and business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of 40+ applications with operational and financial accountability.
• Lead the full project lifecycle: scoping, discovery, procurement, delivery, and operational support.
• Work closely with business teams to align tech strategy with business goals.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and vendors.
• Drive procurement processes (e.g., RFPs), manage budgets ($5-10m), and ensure smooth running of new capabilities.
• Lead teams of up to 6 direct reports and manage virtual teams of up to 100.
• Resolve high-severity incidents, particularly in vendor mediation.
• Oversee BAU and enhance existing applications while managing multiple project teams.

About you

• Proven experience as an IT Program / Portfolio Manager with responsibility for a portfolio of critical applications in a complex environment.
• Strong background in service delivery management, program management, and vendor management.
• Hands-on experience in managing budgets, business cases, procurement processes, and operating models.
• Ability to manage large-scale projects and deliver complex outcomes in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and managing vendor relationships.
• A strategic thinker with a track record of leading diverse teams across multiple projects.
• Strong ability to manage cross-functional relationships and lead teams toward shared goals.
• Comfort with navigating challenging stakeholder dynamics and vendor performance issues.
