Position in a nutshell:
As the National Business Development Manager, you will be tasked with developing and implementing a National Education and Government Strategy. This will be a field-based position that requires someone who is able and willing to work remotely (from QLD) and travel to all major cities regularly
Key Responsibilities:
- Focus on the maintenance of existing customer base as well as documenting a clear business development plan through management of Client activities and the implementation of agreed company strategies
- Identify opportunities that will lead to new sales, with the focus on upcoming education and government backed projects
- Develop and follow a structured call plan with regard to all key influencers.
- Have an excellent understanding of all the key groups within the segments and build relationships with the hierarchy of each group
- Provide market feedback for input into further product development
Perfect Experience:
- A National BDM with a hunter mentality from the interiors products space, with existing strong network in the Education segment across the Eastern states
Also highly regarded would be:
- Field sales experience (min 8 years realistically) from within the building materials space - areas of relevance / interest would be candidates that have previously worked within the education fit out, workstations, furniture, playground equipment, lighting, partitioning, textiles, acoustics, glass, facade, flooring or carpets markets
- Relationships with leading Builders, Architects & Designers and / or Contractors across the country - the main bulk of work will be in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne
- Willingness to travel regularly (monthly) within Australia as to support the States in achieving their target (Adelaide and Perth twice a year, Sydney and Melbourne monthly)
- Competent computer skills e.g. MS Office (in particular Outlook & Excel), CRM systems, etc
We would also consider National Business Development Managers from allied sectors such as Healthcare, Hospitality or Workplace that would be interested in focusing primarily on the education space. Candidates would need to come from the building materials space, hunter mentality and have a history of growing segments nationally
Package:
c$140-150k + super + car allowance + fuel card + c$30k in comms
