ABOUT THE ROLE

The Field Plant Mechanic is responsible for carrying out service and repair on site. The role is expected to consume 1-2 days per week with scope for growth. Successful contractor must be able to supply a service vehicle and tools and will be eligible to charge a call out fee for 1 hour's labor for each job. Makinex will provide training and support in Cormidi mini dumper servicing and repair.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing periodical and preventative maintenance, carrying out repairs of earthmoving equipment with small engines
• Diagnosing, repairing and servicing skid steer loaders, mixing station motors, other equipment fitted with small engines
• Perform repairs on various engines, including engine components, electrical systems, carburettors and fuel systems.
• Dismantling, repairing and reassembling small engines
• Diagnosing and removing hydraulic pumps and hoses
• Driving your own service vehicle to attend breakdowns and onsite work
• Professional interactions with customers, internal departments, and work colleagues
• Being self-organised and on top of time-management
• Carry out all work in-line with WH&S and company procedures

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

• experience required working on small engine construction equipment with mini dumper experience desired
• a strong mechanical & technical aptitude
• proficient in diagnosing and repairing various types of small engines
• familiarity with small engine tools and diagnostic equipment
• strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• effective communication with both customers and other team members
• physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment when necessary
• basic understanding of product application
• good time management
• self-motivated with the ability to act and operate independently
