The Role
The Town of Port Hedland is currently seeking a Leading Hand Parks & Gardens who will work closely with the team Coordinators to ensure the Town's Parks and Open Space assets are effectively maintained throughout the community. This includes neighbourhood parks, sports grounds, as well as various community facilities, landscaped areas and entry statements. We're looking for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in achieving operational programs to ensure our community and town benefit from our green assets.
The position is responsible for leading the Parks & Gardens team in collaboration with other Leading Hands, in areas such as general horticulture, landscaping and turf management, therefore previous supervisory experience within the industry is a must along with basic computer skills.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as the Town embarks on a culture of change with embracing of a wide range of new technologies, a large capital-works program, and a number of other projects that make the Town a desirable place to live and work.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- Current 'MR' class driver's license
- White Card
- National Police Clearance
- Rights to work in Australia
- Current First Aid qualification
