At QBD Books we’re passionate about inspiring readers, empowering learners and creating memorable customer experiences. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dynamic and commercially focused State Manager to lead our Victorian store teams to success.

This hands-on leadership role is perfect for a retail leader who thrives on driving sales, developing high-performing teams and delivering exceptional customer experiences across multiple locations.

You’ll oversee approximately 20 stores, working closely with 4 Store Support Managers to build a customer-first culture, deliver operational excellence and achieve strong sales growth.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, mentor and develop 4 Store Support Managers and store teams across the state.
• Own and drive sales, conversion and customer experience across your region.
• Implement and monitor operational and visual merchandising standards across all stores.
• Analyse sales, customer and performance metrics to identify opportunities and create action plans.
• Collaborate with the national leadership team to develop and roll out state and national initiatives.
• Foster a high-performance, customer-first culture where people are engaged, supported and continuously learning.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience and performance leading multi-site teams - State Manager, Regional Manager or similar.
• A passion for books, retail and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Strong commercial acumen – you can spot opportunities in the numbers and convert them into action and sales.
• Inspirational leadership skills – you coach, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Expertise in visual merchandising, operations and stock management.
• Flexibility to travel across Victoria and occasionally interstate.
