About the role
The Principal Asset Portfolio Manager coordinates the development, approval, and delivery of optimised multi-year portfolios of capital, R&M and operational work on our client's assets.
Daily duties and responsibilities:
• Support the asset investment planning and management system and related processes.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement between work initiators, delivery teams and support functions in accordance with the work delivery engagement framework
• Monitor and direct the flow of work from initiators through to project delivery and works management.
• Perform constraint and scenario analysis and identify opportunities for optimisation and bundling of work.
• Coordinate portfolio risk / prioritisation decision making and commentary.
• Consolidate portfolios into coherent budget submissions.
• Translate approved plans into milestones and baseline metrics for performance reporting.
• Perform long term resource forecasting to identify constraints and efficient work delivery strategies for internal and external resources.
• Maintain a centralised view of portfolio performance and network risk.
What you need to succeed:
• Mandatory minimum 3 or 4 year Science and Engineering or Accounting and Economics degree.
• Highly developed analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information to a diverse range of stakeholders and customers.
• Ability to lead change, influence decisions and encourage others to implement innovative and more effective work procedures, practices, and processes.
• Ability to build collaborative working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Solid Microsoft Office skills in Excel
• Strong software database experience and the ability to learn complex IT systems and technology.
• Experience in a program or portfolio management role in a utility or similar environment
• Experience in the application of risk-based asset investment planning processes and systems
• Project development and/or project management experience
• Experience in the identification and implementation of business process improvements
• Sound working knowledge of maintenance management and works management processes and systems (highly desirable)
• Understanding of the principles and practices associated with installing and maintaining infrastructure assets (highly desirable)
In return, our client offers:
• Excellent hourly rate of $98 p/h + Super (25% casual loading inclusive)
• Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
• 18-month temp contract commencing ASAP (possible extension on offer)
• Based in Woolner NT
