Senior Engineer – Water (Civil/Environmental)

Rain Consulting is seeking a Senior Engineer who thrives in an autonomous, independent role within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. About the Role
As a Senior Engineer, you will:
- Flood Modelling & Flood Impact Analysis (FIA)
- Stormwater Management Plans (SWMP)
- Functional Design
- Integrated Water Management (IWM)
- Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) reports
- Independently lead & manage projects end to end - ensuring they meet budgetary, quality, safety, and timeframe targets.
- Deliver technically sound solutions and reports to clients, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Provide training, line management, and mentoring to junior staff, fostering their professional growth.
- Undertake advanced hydrological and hydraulic modelling, including TUFLOW, MUSIC, and RORB modelling.
- Conduct spreadsheet calculations and analyses to deliver:
- Embrace and utilise geospatial software such as QGIS to support project outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil or Environmental preferred).
- 6+ years of post-graduate experience in water engineering.
- Proven ability to work independently and autonomously on complex projects.
- Experience with hydrological and hydraulic modelling tools such as TUFLOW, MUSIC, and RORB.
- Experience in development industry (stormwater management strategies, flood management, integrated water management, functional design of drainage assets)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for water and sustainable design.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
- Experience in training and mentoring junior engineers.
- Competency in geospatial software such as QGIS.
- Engineers Australia National Engineering Register (NER) accreditation is desirable.
- Chartered Status is desirable.
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field would be an advantage.
- Reside in WA or VIC
