If you're passionate about driving meaningful change and contributing to impactful policy development, we want you on our team!
About State Insurance Schemes Division
This division is responsible for driving system outcomes, financial sustainability, performance, strengthened accountability and governance frameworks for the State’s insurance and care schemes managed by Insurance and Care NSW (icare), and the efficiency and cost effectiveness of its commercial model.
The division provides strategic advice to support the Treasurer and Minister for Work Health and Safety to deliver Government priorities across the State’s insurance and care system. It supports the application of NSW Government commercial policy and other frameworks to icare, including to assess and monitor its commercial strategies, manage appointments to the Board and potential budgetary risks.
The division is part of the Commercial Group at NSW Treasury. The division advises Government on potential pathways to position the State’s insurance and care system to deal with the changing needs and risk exposures of the State economy. This includes developing legislation to give effect to the Government evolving reform agenda, including in relation to workers compensation, as well as strengthening governance and accountability frameworks, financial management and other policy reforms to address rapid growth in the State’s self-insurance liabilities.
