Job Title: Trade Assistant

Pay Rate: $38.60- $39.45ph + Super (pay rate is dependent on level of experience)
Working Hours: Casual Temporary position with Fulltime hours + after hour call outs + possible weekend work
Job Overview:

The Trade Assistant reports to the Dockyard Morgan Leading Hand. This role requires the Trade Assistant to be available on a roster basis for after-hours ferry repairs and to undertake the duties of an after-hours callout roster coordinator.

The Trade Assistant will assist various tradespeople, including Mechanical, Fabrication, and Electrical personnel, in completing tasks such as (but not limited to) structural maintenance and repair, mechanical maintenance (Diesel, Hydraulic, Pneumatic), ferry strip-down and fit-out, and electrical maintenance.

While the role is primarily based at the Morgan Dockyard, the Trade Assistant will be required to travel for 12 ferry crossings from Lyrup to Narrung.

Requirements:

• Current unrestricted driver’s licence and white card
• Trades experience
• Recreational boat license
• Must be willing to work after hours and on weekends
• Must be willing to travel intra/ interstate
• Forklift Truck HRW licence (or willing to obtain);
• Confined Space licence (enter, work, gas test) (or willing to obtain);
