Warrawee Care Centre is looking to employ another OOSH assistant director. Perfect for a dedicated and experienced educator with at least 3 years in OOSH, looking to grow into a new role. We are a large service with a licence of 300 children a day and ready to increase our senior staff team. We are open 7.15am – 9.30am in the mornings and 2.30-6.30pm in the afternoons. We also operate during school holidays between 7.15am and 6.30pm.

About the role:

You will be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with families, overseeing a staff team, managing a large number of primary children and working alongside senior staff.

A successful candidate must be passionate and highly motivated to learn and grow in this position. Job hours and tasks will be flexible to suit the right applicant for our service.

Responsibilities and the role

  • Permanent part time or fulltime position for the right applicant

  • Perform as the responsible person in day-to-day charge in the absence of the director
  • Plan a quality program based on children's current interests
  • Support the director in managing the staff team
  • Ensure compliance with national regulations, service policies and procedures, NQF is maintained
  • Administrative tasks as required
  • Foster and maintain a positive, safe and professional environment
  • Work collaboratively with all staff, children, families, and school community
  • Flexible working hours, however at least a minimum of 30-35 hours is required for this role. This includes a minimum of 4-5 afternoons a week, and some mornings. Admin hours / non-contact time is arranged to be flexible to your needs.
  • Above award pay ($35-$45 hourly depending on the experience of the candidate)

To be a successful applicant you must:

  • Have excellent communication skills with all parents, children and team members
  • Previous experience working with primary aged children in an OOSH setting
  • A valid WWC and First aid certificate
  • Already a responsible person in day to day charge
  • Experience working in an OOSH.
  • Knowledge of MTOP/EYLF, regulations, NQS
  • Ability to work varied hours during school holidays for vacation care
  • High level motivation and initiative
