Due to ongoing growth they are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Workshop Supervisor to lead their Bibra Lake workshop team whilst optimising their business operations, improving efficiencies and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service.
Position Overview:
As the Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring that all vehicle builds, maintenance, repairs, and servicing are completed to the highest standards. You will oversee a team of skilled technicians and ensure a safe, efficient, and productive working environment. Your leadership and organisational skills will be key to maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and achieving operational targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of technicians, mechanics, boilermakers, auto electricians and support staff to ensure smooth workshop operations.
- Ensure all vehicle builds, repairs, maintenance and servicing is carried out in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
- Monitor workshop performance and productivity, providing feedback and coaching to staff.
- Manage the scheduling of jobs and allocation of tasks to ensure timely completion of work.
- Liaise with internal and external customers to provide updates on vehicle builds and repairs, manage project deliveries and repairs within budgets and timelines, resolve any issues or concerns.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring that parts and tools are readily available and properly accounted for.
- Ensure health and safety standards are met in the workshop at all times.
- Assist in the training and development of staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and organisation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Compile reports and attend regular management meetings.
- Daily pre-starts, scheduling, quoting, etc
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the automotive or truck service industry – dealership experience would also be an advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of trucks, maintenance, and repair procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant qualifications in automotive engineering or trade related field
- Full, valid driver’s license.
