Job Overview:
As a Retail Buyer, you will play a critical role in selecting and sourcing merchandise that aligns with the latest fashion trends and meets the needs of our customers. You will collaborate with suppliers, negotiate pricing and delivery terms, and ensure that the right products are available in the right quantities at the right time to drive sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, source, and select a range of women’s apparel that aligns with the company’s fashion direction and target customer base.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, negotiating contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences to inform product purchasing decisions.
- Monitor stock levels, analyze sales data, and ensure inventory is replenished efficiently, avoiding overstock or stockouts.
- Review product performance and sales trends to make informed decisions about future buys, promotions, and markdowns.
- Work with the marketing and finance teams to establish competitive pricing strategies that maximize profitability while remaining appealing to customers.
- Attend fashion trade shows, read industry publications, and work with trend forecasting tools to ensure the company stays ahead of market trends.
- Work closely with the marketing, store, and e-commerce teams to align product selections with promotional activities and customer demands.
- Develop and manage purchasing budgets, ensuring cost control and maximization of profit margins.
- Ensure that all purchased merchandise meets quality standards and aligns with brand values.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Retail Buyer, ideally within the fashion or retail industry.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Deep knowledge of fashion trends, the retail market, and consumer behavior.
- Analytical skills to assess sales data and make purchasing decisions.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A passion for fashion and a keen eye for emerging trends.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Salary and Benefits: Salary Range: $90,000 to $100,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
