The Team:

Eastern Shore Community Nursing, Hobart, is a supportive and progressive team, providing nursing care to clients in their own homes, community health centres and community settings. These fixed term appointments offer an opportunity to experience primary health care and further develop your community nursing skills.

The Role:

Community nurses provide safe, quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with clients, their families and other health professionals within Hobart's Easten Shore region from Opossum Bay to Bridgewater.

Duties include comprehensive client assessment, evaluation, planning, coordination and implementation of clinically appropriate nursing care. Community nurses provide range of services including wound care, catheter care, palliative care, stoma and drain management, medication management, intravenous therapy and central line care.

You will need:

1. Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures, and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (ANMB) National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse.
2. Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
3. Knowledge of continuous quality improvement (safety and quality) and the application of evidence-based practice in the practice setting.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately ten (10) months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
