We are seeking a talented In-House Salon/Shop Design Draftsperson to help shape the future of our brand through exceptional salon design and layout.

This full-time Retail Shop Designer role offers an exciting opportunity to make your mark on the store designs for Just Cuts', a leading national haircare brand. As the In-House Salon/Shop Designer, you will be instrumental in creating functional, aesthetically pleasing, and brand-consistent salon spaces. Your role involves collaborating with internal teams and franchisees to ensure our salons meet operational needs, brand standards, and budget constraints. You will oversee the design process from concept through to execution, ensuring that all projects align with local building codes and regulations.

What you'll be doing

• Design Development: Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications for salon layouts, including floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings.
• Brand Consistency: Develop and refine design standards to ensure all salons reflect the Just Cuts brand globally.
• Collaboration: Work closely with operations, marketing, and franchise teams to align designs with operational needs and brand guidelines. Liaise with Landlords for Design approvals
• Project Coordination: Liaise with shopfitters, contractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate and timely implementation of designs.
• Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with local building codes and regulations.
• Customisation: Tailor designs to meet franchisee needs while maintaining brand consistency.
• Revisions: Update designs based on feedback and evolving requirements.
• Documentation: Maintain a library of design standards and materials and ensure all project-related documents are complete and timely.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor construction progress and promote methods to ensure design consistency and quality.

What we're looking for

• Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in retail or commercial design, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
• Exceptional drafting and CAD skills, with proficiency in programs such as AutoCAD and SketchUp
• A keen eye for detail and the ability to translate design concepts into functional, buildable solutions
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Keen eye for detail and a passion for creating inspiring spaces.
• Strong problem-solving and project management skills to coordinate multiple stakeholders
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with both internal and external partners
