About the role:
An exciting opportunity is now available for a male Cultural Guidance Worker to guide the cultural aspects of the TWR Program. The position will support the team to deliver high quality, client focused outcomes which will contribute to the improvement of social and emotional wellbeing and reduce the impact of family violence on Aboriginal children and young people, their families and communities. The position is based at our Pembroke Street site in Broome, and regular day trips as well as occasional overnight travel will be required. A fixed term contract is available until March 2026 with possibility of extension.
You will be required to:
- Attend and support overnight on-country camps for Together We Ride clients
- Liaise with other members of the Together We Ride team, to ensure that cultural protocols are followed, and that team practice is culturally secure, in the Kimberley Indigenous context. ∙ Maintain supportive, co-operative and positive relationships with other teams and programs within MOSAC Youth Services, with other MOSAC teams, and with external agencies, including attending team meetings as required and assisting with home visits and pick-ups / drop-offs of clients
- Maintain good records of client attendance, involvement and progress in cultural activities on the Together We Ride program.
- Maintain effective and respectful verbal and written communication with the program participants, team members and direct supervisor/s at all times.
- Help develop and maintain strong networks with outside stakeholders
- Support the development and implementation of other culturally appropriate programs for clients, family members and community groups within MOSAC as required
Successful applicants will ideally have:
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal society and culture and the ability to apply cultural knowledge and sensitivities in a work setting.
- Ability to work within a culturally safe, strength based, trauma informed framework which promotes safety, accountability, responsibility and respect to clients.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to work positively in a skilled and diverse team, working alongside both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal staff
Requirements and relevant information:
- Current WA working with children check
- Applicants must hold a ‘C’ class drivers' license with no restrictions
- Overnight travel is a requirement of this role
- This is a 50D position, only Aboriginal applicants will be considered.

What we offer:
$105,000 per annum (pro rata), 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading, SGC superannuation, Not For Profit generous salary packaging, anniversary payment after 12 months of employment, option of a nine day fortnight, additional 3 days leave at Christmas and 2 days wellbeing leave, access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and study opportunities.
