Blooming Garden Beaumont aims to provide modern Australian and authentic Asian cuisine with quality food prepared fresh for each customer along with welcoming service and eat-in dining at an affordable price for local families. The current position of a full-time chef is essential to assist in organising and preparing dishes efficiently and with the highest quality and skill for our customers.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage culinary team.
- Develop and plan menus and daily specials.
- Create prep lists for kitchen crew.
- Manage food costing and inventory.
- Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health codes and regulations.
- Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas.
- Participate in interview process and selection of kitchen staff.
- Schedule staff and assist in human resources processes as needed.
Qualifications & experience
- Formal culinary training / culinary certificate
- At least three years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of Asian cuisine and culture
- Previous kitchen management experience
Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
- Understanding of menu and recipe development techniques
- Ongoing awareness of culinary trends
- Occupational health & safety understanding
- Well-presented and good communication skills
