About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated API Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, configuring, and optimizing Axway API solutions to ensure seamless integration, security, and performance of APIs across various platforms.
It is essential that you have API gateways experience – specifically, Axway experience would be ideal but not essential. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement API strategies that align with business objectives and enhance service delivery.
In addition to your strong technical background you will have also had experience working with IT partners/vendors. This role will utilise both your technical knowhow and communications skills, in order to ensure our partners are delivering what is required.

What you’ll do:
- ? Oversee the setup, configuration, and administration of Axway API management tools (Axway API Gateway, Axway Amplify, etc.) to ensure seamless API integration and operations.
- Implement security policies and ensure robust access control, authentication, and authorization mechanisms for API environments. Stay up to date on best practices for API security.
- Continuously monitor and optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of API platforms, ensuring high availability and responsiveness.
- Work closely with developers, architects, and business analysts to integrate APIs with various internal and external systems, applications, and third-party services.
- Develop comprehensive API documentation, guidelines, and standards to ensure consistent use of API features. Promote and enforce best practices for API design and usage
- Provide support in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving API-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, integration failures, and security vulnerabilities.
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in API management and integration (preferably with Axway solutions), and AWS
- Strong understanding of API management, RESTful services, and microservices architecture.
- In-depth knowledge of RESTful API concepts, web services, and API protocols (e.g., HTTP, SOAP, JSON, XML)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex API integration and performance issues
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong attention to detail, good communication skills and a team-player with a flexible mind-set
- Previous experience working with IT Partners and vendors would be beneficial
