PURPOSE
The Program Experience Leader will play an integral role in the future success of our organisation and the achievement of our Motivation, Mission and Values.
The Program Experience Leader will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of NEWCHAPTER and will be required to operate under limited supervision while ensuring compliance with NDIS regulatory requirements and Tasmania Disability Service Regulations.
The Program Experience Leader will lead a case of load of Participants and Disability Support Workers that will require staff to adapt to individual requirements of each participants needs. Day-to-day activities will involve making connection with new or existing participants, working with their participants in developing and establishing goals that target their assessed needs, then providing guidance and support to the participant/s in their pursuit and achievement of these goals.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist in the growth and expansion of NEWCHAPTER Services, including attending, facilitating, and completing the onboarding process in consultation with Executive Leader of Operations (quotes, service agreements, onboarding assessment, risk management and all other associated documentation)
- Organise and lead Supported Independent Living, Short Term Accommodation and Community Access.
- Develop best practice/high quality programs to enable participants to reach their potentials and effectively implement and measure program and goal outcome.
- Ensure regulatory reporting and organisational compliance requirements are adhered to.
- Provide on-going supervisory support, mentoring and training to Team Leaders and Disability Support Workers.
- Supervise staff relations, including underperformance or employee concerns with counselling or discipline matters, in consultation with Executive Leader of Operations and People & Culture.
- Effectively work with other organisations to provide the best outcome for participants and their families/persons responsible and the most efficient use of community resources and funding.
- Identify areas of improvement and actively seek participant feedback and Address gaps/issues that impact negatively on participants, goal outcomes and/or staff.
- Undertake regular assessments of existing and new participants to ensure best practice.
- Liaise with key stakeholders and promote services to new participants.
- Exercise initiative in the application of established work activities to ensure effective functioning of the site/venue including Adhering to and champion NEWCHAPTERS policies and procedures, Code of Conduct and Motivation, Mission & Values.
- Undertake complex administration duties.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings and supervision meetings.
- Directly support participants by providing necessary and reasonable support.
- Upon request be prepared to act in a more senior capacity; and
- Any other duties, consistent with skills and experience, as required and directed.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Tertiary qualification or diploma, or substantial experience to demonstrate competence sufficient to perform the duties required of this position.
- Demonstrated understanding of NDIS rules, NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS Code of Conduct, NDIS Price Guide and NDIS Support Catalogue.
- Experience working at a supervisory level.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people and in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrated organisational, planning, high level to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-skilled environment which is subject to work pressures and change.
- Experience with producing high quality and effective communication (written and oral).
- Computer skills including experience with the Microsoft Office, and the ability to adapt to new in-house systems.
- Current unrestricted drivers’ license; and
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
