- 21 hours per week
- Location: Open to candidates across all NSW locations.
- Professional Officer Grade 1-4 | Salary from $87,315 to $141,206 per annum plus super and leave loading (commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience)

About the Role
In this temporary part-time position, you’ll support aquatic biosecurity projects, focusing on pests and disease management. You’ll contribute to evidence-based biosecurity policy implementation, collaborating with both internal teams at DPIRD and external stakeholders across government and industry to achieve NSW’s biosecurity objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical analysis on aquatic biosecurity projects, including evidence collation and outcome evaluation.
- Support policy and project development through cross-government engagement and coordination.
- Collect field data to support evidence-based policy formulation.
- Maintain reporting systems, preparing clear briefs, reports, and updates.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on biosecurity research, policy, and legislation.
- Support emergency responses to aquatic biosecurity events, including on-call rotation duties.
About you
You’re an analytical problem-solver with a deep understanding of aquatic biosecurity. You excel in working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, and you’re driven to protect our aquatic ecosystems. Your ability to communicate complex concepts and deliver clear, actionable advice makes you an ideal fit for this role.
Essential requirements
🎓 Tertiary qualifications in Veterinary Science, registerable in NSW
🔐 Experience in biosecurity risk management
🚗 Current NSW Driver Licence
