Be part of a purpose-led organisation with care at its core. You’ll make a difference by acting in the best interests of our communities and city. Be better together with collaborative and inclusive partnerships. Embrace possibilities and be open to new ideas and creating bold solutions.

About the role

This role places you in the heart of the decision-making process in the City of Sydney, working in the office of Councillor Yvonne Weldon. Yvonne is an independent councillor and the City of Sydney’s first Aboriginal councillor.

Working in a fast-moving political environment and as part of a small team, you’ll be responsible for correspondence, diary management and office administration.

This is a part time position. Workdays and hours are negotiable.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is organised, agile and prioritises tasks effectively
  • Communicates clearly and succinctly
  • Writes fluently
  • Has an interest in community service and/or local government

Prior experience and/or qualifications in administration are required. Experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities is desirable.

So too is knowledge of key focus areas (e.g. community development, creative and cultural sector, sustainability, and/or urban planning).

Please outline your interest in this role and relevant experience in a cover letter.
