About the role
Part-time (31.5 hours per week), fixed term (12-month contract for 11 months of work per year)
Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m – 4:30 p.m
$39,700 + 11.5% superannuation + pro rata leave entitlements
Amusement, Events and Recreation Award - Grade 3
As the Education and Visitor Services Administrator, you will represent the front line for customer service for all education programs at the Museum. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the education departments’ booking processes and systems.
Reporting to the Education Manager, you will be required to have a deep knowledge of our education program offerings, be able to communicate this information to teachers and adult community groups in a friendly and easy to understand manner, field enquiries via email and telephone, process bookings, create staff rosters, issue accurate invoices, confidently liaise with contractors and stakeholders, and capture and record all relevant data.
One day per week, you will act as the Front of House Officer, assisting all visitors to the Museum, including school groups, tour groups, contractors, visitors, and Board members. You will provide friendly and proactive assistance to Museum visitors, process ticket sales, shop sales, and respond to general enquiries.
This position is active 11 months per year, with one mandatory unpaid month per year. Unpaid month and annual leave, accrued pro-rata, is to be taken during a quiet period for the Education department (i.e. during school holidays) in consultation with the Education Manager and the CEO.
About you
- Demonstrated customer service experience in education, tourism, or the cultural sector
- A high level of English proficiency, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- A very high-level of attention to detail
- A passion for Chinese-Australian history, arts, and education
- Outgoing, reliable, and eager to support all departments where needed
- Experience in operating and maintaining booking systems is advantageous
- Experience in Point of Sale software (e.g. Lightspeed) is advantageous
- Must have or be eligible for a Working with Children Check
- Must have the right to work in Australia for the length of the contract as specified
